RADFORD – A Belle Heth Elementary School fifth grader’s idea to form a club to beautify her community recently came to fruition, much to the benefit of Radford’s outdoors.
“The first ever Clean Community Club event was a huge success,” Bele Heth announced. “Major shoutout to fifth grader Esme for organizing this event.”
“Special thanks to Jamie Rose and Emily Hite and the Radford City Police Department for partnering and helping to make this happen,” the school’s announcement continued. “Thanks also to the Belle Heth House Planning Team and Radford Food City for donating ice and water. Volunteers spent time picking up trash at Belle Heth, Wildwood Park, Bisset Park, and Dudley’s Landing.”
The Radford City Police Department also commented on the event.
“What a great way to start a beautiful weekend,” the department announced. “Esme brought her amazing Clean Community Club idea to life, and it was a huge success. We were able to collect approximately 35 bags of trash. We are excited to be a part of this club and see it grow.”
