RADFORD – A new, nature-based childcare center opened its doors in Radford in January and celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting and open house Saturday, April 25.
WonderTree Academy is located at 602 Thirteenth St. here in Radford, owned and perated by Olivia Aiza.
“Our nature-based curriculum includes lots of outdoor learning and playing,” explained NormaJean Landis, administrative assistant at the school. “Our vegetable gardens are being planted, and the children are excited to learn about growing and harvesting.”
“At WonderTree Academy, we understand that each child is a unique creation with limitless potential,” the center’s mission statement reads. “Our mission is to nurture that potential through our educational programs, providing purposeful children’s learning experiences that engage the heart, inspire the mind, and honor the beauty of childhood.”
WonderTree Academy provides childcare for ages six weeks old to pre-school with a focus on children’s learning and development and offers before and after school care for school-aged children, aged 5-10 years old.
