RADFORD – A popular summer event in Radford is returning this year and the line-up should be entertaining and educational for children and adults alike.
The Wildwood Park Nature Lecture Series takes place in the heart of Wildwood Park at the Outdoor Classroom (pavilion). To get to the site, attendees can park at the Sundell Drive parking lot for Wildwood Park and take the walkway into the center of the park. All of the talks start at 7:30 p.m. and are held rain or shine unless there are thunderstorms. The first of the Thursday evening talks is set for tomorrow, Thursday June 8.
The talks include:
June 8: Snakes (Matt Close, Virginia Herpetological Society and Radford University)
June 22: Turtles (Brandon Crawford, Virginia Tech)
July 6: Millipedes (Jackson Means, Virginia Tech)
July 20: Salamanders (Frank Taylor, Nature at Your Door)
August 3: Geology (Liz McClellan, Radford University)
September 7: Native Plants (Virginia Native Plant Society)
September 21: Nature Inspired Poetry and Song (TBD)
