Raylyn Colette Terrell-de Gastyne, 92, of Christiansburg (recently from Fla. after raising her family in Alexandria, Va.), passed away Monday, Mar. 17, 2025. Raylyn was born July 28, 1932, in San Fransico, Calif. Being of a USAF family, she traveled the world and experienced many cultures. She loved the States and being a California Girl. She attended Oberlin College to study voice and often accompanied herself on the guitar.

She loved to sing in church and was attached to prayer and study of her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Lt. Gen. Richard and Margaret Ball Lindsay; son, John Terrell; brother, Richard (Dick)Lindsay; and one great grandchild.

Survivors include her children, Bernard de Gastyne, Michele de Gastyne, Fereol de Gastyne, Jackie Braden (Barry), Yolande de Gastyne; and R. Paul de Gastyne (Catherine); 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at a later date.

The Terrell-de Gastyne family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory.
