Arthur Joshua Neighbors, Jr., 81, of Radford, passed away peacefully Friday Mar. 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was the husband of Andrea Peak Neighbors.
Mr. Neighbors was born in Lynchburg on Sept. 16, 1943. He was the son of the late Arthur Joshua Neighbors Sr. and Mary Dalton Neighbors. He graduated from William Campbell High School (‘62) and from Virginia Tech (VPI ‘66). He was a diehard Virginia Tech fan. Go Hokies! He retired from textiles after 38 years of service. He worked as a finance officer for Burlington Industries, for 22 years, and then as CFO/VP at New River Industries, for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife Andrea Peak Neighbors also of Radford; sister, June Mosebrook (Guy), of Lynchburg; daughter, Janine Neighbors-Woodrum (David Woodrum), of Pulaski; and son Alan Neighbors (Billie), of Greensboro, N.C. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kaylie and Arthur Neighbors, of Greensboro, N.C. and a host of grand puppies.
He was predeceased by five sisters, Edna N. Overstreet (Julian), Mallia N. Honig (Steptoe), Earlene Adams Reighard (Bob), Lavonne N. Dalton (Eppa) and Gloria Crews (George); and two brothers, Lee Roy Neighbors Sr. (Myrtle) and Gilbert C. Neighbors (Oneida).
A celebration of life will be conducted at Kedron Baptist Church, of Gladys (7862 Brookneal Hwy, Gladys, VA 24554), on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. A reception will follow.
