The Blacksburg High School soccer program has been dominant in the Commonwealth for the past 10 years, and the team continues to have players move to the next level.
This past week, two from the boys’ team signed letters of intent to play soccer in college.
Keanan Kopp will continue his soccer career at Randolph Macon College, while Craig Huxtable is headed to Roanoke College.
Kopp had three goals and eight assists in 2025. He was second team All-District and Honorable Mention All-Region. Through 10 matches in 2026, he has four goals and 12 assists
Huxtable had 15 goals and nine assists in 2025. He was first team All-District, first team All-Region, first team All-State, and River Ridge District Player of the Year. Through 10 matches in 2026, Huxtable has 21 goals and six assists.
Kopp is a recipient of the prestigious Trustee’s scholarship at Randolph Macon. Last season, Kopp was named to the second team all-district and honorable mention for Region 4 in 2025. Kopp has also been a part of high achieving club soccer teams in the ECNL
regional league and has participated in Olympic Development Program interregional play as a member of the East Coast team.
Randolph–Macon College is a private liberal arts college in Ashland, Virginia. The Randolph–Macon athletic teams are the Yellow Jackets. The college is a member of the Division III level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), primarily competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
This past season, RM finished the soccer season with a 8-6-4 overall record.
Kopp plans to study business marketing and minor in economics at Randolph Macon College.
In his junior year, Huxtable was first team all-district, district player of the year, first team all-region, and first team all-state.
Roanoke is an NCAA Division III member competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Maroons’ soccer team is coming off a 8-10 mark this season.
Huxtable plans to study finance at Roanoke College.
