Letter to the editor
Over the past couple of months, the public has had the opportunity to observe and evaluate the perspectives of the various candidates in the upcoming Radford School Board election. It is my privilege to voice my support for Mrs. Lee Jordan Slusher.
As a past Radford School Board member and chairman, I know what is required of board members to be effective and to represent the school division well.
Mrs. Slusher has an honest, pragmatic and hopeful insight into the Radford School Division’s needs. She has the willingness and skill set to examine the issues, listen closely to the public’s questions and concerns, and to draft policies to meet these needs.
As a retired teacher with approximately 30 years in the classroom, Mrs. Slusher knows first-hand the challenges that both teachers and school divisions face each day.
This perspective further bolsters her qualifications for an effective tenure on the Radford School Board.
Mrs. Slusher also serves as a board director on the Radford City Schools Partners for Excellence Foundation, Inc. In this capacity, she successfully raises private funds to meet the division-identified needs of students and the Radford City School Division.
On May 1, 2018, please join my family as we support Mrs. Lee Jordan Slusher in her efforts to further support Radford students and the School Division.
