Robert (Bob) Joseph Currie passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022 in Christiansburg at the age of 72.

Bob was born Sept. 29, 1950, in Blacksburg to John Robert Currie, Jr., and Mary Pack Currie. He was a 1968 graduate of Blacksburg High School and went on to work local factory jobs before going to work in the car dealership industry. Bob devoted over 30 years to car sales and was well-known in the area for his time spent in the business. He loved making people laugh.

In 1995 Bob met and married the love of his life, Paula Capps Currie of Christiansburg.

In recent years Bob poured his heart into providing, loving, and caring for his family and his dog, Max. He had a passion for fishing, shooting pool, cooking and all sports. He was also a huge fan of Hokies Nation and the Yankees.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents: his brother, David Currie, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Parker Capps.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Paula Currie of Christiansburg; sons Stacey Currie of Dublin and Parker Currie of Christiansburg; daughter Leslie (Marcus) Uzzell of Wilmington, N.C..; sister Patricia Currie of Christiansburg; three grandchildren: Jayme Gilmore, Kameran Currie, and Kyleigh Wilson; a great-grandchild, Landry Combs; a sister-in-law, Linda Cook; best friend Mike Linkous; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at the Mullins Funeral Home, 120 West Main St., Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.

The Currie family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home and Crematory in Radford.
