RADFORD – Another member of the 2023 state football championship team from Radford High School has announced plans to play at the next level. Sincere Taylor will play at Concord University this coming fall.

He signed paperwork this past week in the Radford gymnasium in front of family, friends and teammates.

This past season, Taylor played running back, quarterback and receiver, with the latter coming with the most snaps. He had 58 receptions for 576 yards with three touchdowns.

Concord University is a public university in Athens, West Virginia and has a current enrollment of 1,375 students. The university is known athletically as the Mountain Lions and is an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Mountain East Conference.

Concord University Athletic Department announced the hiring of Cody Edwards earlier this year as the school’s new head football coach.

He comes to Concord as the program’s 22nd head coach after a stint as the linebackers’ coach and special teams’ coordinator at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.

Edwards spent the last three seasons at WCU where he was first the linebackers’ coach during the 2021, 2022 and 2023 seasons before coordinating the Catamounts’ special teams in 2024 in addition to his positional coaching on defense.
