RADFORD — Years after Radford’s Lions Club disbanded, Lions Clubs International is proud to announce the formation of the new Radford Lions Club, a dynamic group of civic-minded individuals dedicated to serving their community and making a lasting impact through humanitarian projects and service activities.

This exciting new addition to the global Lions network brings together individuals from Radford and surrounding areas who share a commitment to improving lives and addressing local needs. The formation of the club is part of Lions Clubs International’s ongoing initiative to expand its reach and revitalize local service through the Global Membership Approach, which focuses on building strong, sustainable clubs that reflect the unique spirit and strengths of their communities.

“This is a moment of growth and opportunity,” said Marty Alford, Past Council Chair and Guiding Lion for the new club. “The Radford Lions Club is built on the values of service, leadership, and community connection. We invite anyone with a heart for service to join us and be part of this movement. We will be holding regular meetings and will be posting dates and times once we have a start up team assembled.”

The club’s next meeting will be Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the Radford Public Library. All the meetings will be at the library at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: June 10 and June 17, 2025.

Once the club’s membership is established they will be planning a series of local service projects and are seeking new members who want to give back, grow as leaders, and form meaningful connections.

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization, with over 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries and geographic areas. The Radford Lions Club joins a global community of volunteers who are united by a common goal: to serve where there is need.

For questions about the club or how to get involved, please contact: Marty Alford, Past Council Chair and Guiding Lion: phone: 540-392-1453 or email: lionmartyalford@gmail.com.
