Herlihy, Jenna Couch (Shires)

Jenna Couch (Shires) Herlihy, 71, of Blacksburg died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017. Born in Sydney, Australia to the late Victor and Evelyn Couch. She was the dearly loved wife of Clayland Waite, and loving mother of Stephen, Andrew, and Nikki.


She was the much-loved grandmother of Mason, Paul, Sebastian, Brandon, Scarlett, and Amelia. Jenna was also very much loved by Clayland’s children Jennifer, Todd, and his wife, Steph, as well as Clayland’s grandchildren Sofia, Emmy, and Lila. After 40 years as a Physical Therapist Jenna helped to heal many people in Australia, England, South Africa, and the United States.

All who knew Jenna will dearly miss her. A unique Australian-Irish celebration of Jenna’s life will be held on today, Nov. 11, 2017 from 1 – 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1205 Old Mill Rd., Blacksburg, VA 24060.

The 5 p.m. Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of Jenna Herlihy. Jenna’s family thanks the staff at the Arbor in Warm Hearth Village and Carilion Clinic Hospice for helping to care for Jenna and her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Women’s Resource Center,
