Olaf Ellen Gallimore, 84, of Salem, went to be with her Lord and Savior May 18, 2023.
Ellen was born December 4, 1938 in Montcalm, W.Va. She was a daughter of the late Payton and Maudie Phillips Gallimore. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edsel Gallimore and Alfred Gallimore; four sisters, Clarice June Chrisman, Dorcas Kent, Elvie Jones, and Joyce Pascoe.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Cappy Ray Gallimore; sisters, Ruby Dallas Gallimore, Eula Mae ‘Julie’ Crewey, Linda Smith, and Janet Webb.
While our hearts are grieving here on earth, she is in a place of God’s beauty, now seeing and hearing everything. Only peace and joy forever, no tears or earthly cares. Her pure heart and her kind spirit is now resting in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff at the Joseph C. Thomas Center Assisted Living at Richfield, Salem, VA where Ellen was a resident for the last three years and nine months.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Martha, Brenda, Missy, Tracy, Sherie, Deidera, Laura, Wendy, Billy Jo, and all others who cared for Ellen for their loving care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Shake Smith officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Beaver Creek Cemetery, Floyd.
