RADFORD – Four teachers have been named Teacher of the Year, one at each of the city’s four public schools, and one will move on to a chance for regional recognition.

Radford City Public Schools Superintendent Robert Graham announced the winners on Thursday. They are Amanda Bush, a kindergarten teacher at McHarg Elementary School; Stacy Schwenk, a third-grade teacher at Belle Heth Elementary School; Andrew Graham, an English teacher at John Dalton Intermediate School; and Luke Munsey, an English teacher at Radford High School.

“We are very proud of our winners and grateful for all they do for our students, staff, and school community on a daily basis,” said Graham via email. “One of these four gifted educators will be recognized as the RCPS Teacher of the Year, which will be announced early next week. The RCPS Teacher of the Year will then be eligible to apply for the Virginia Region VII Teacher of the Year, which is generally announced in the late winter or early spring. Best of luck to these four wonderful candidates!” Radford News Journal staff report
