Blue Ridge Vocal Connection is hosting a Blue Ridge Choir Festival this Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, at Grove United Methodist Church in Radford.
“Join us for this epic choral event featuring nine choirs and 170 singers,” organizers announced. “We will also welcome stellar conductor Dr. Julian Bryson and 50 of Radford University’s finest singers to our New River Valley community during this, Dr. Bryson’s inaugural season as RU’s new choral instructor.”
And if you like to sing—but can’t come as part of a performing choir—you’re still welcome to participate in the 4 p.m. mass choir rehearsal and concert finale performance. PDFs and rehearsal tracks for the two mass choir songs (Ride the Morning Winds and O Happy Day) are on Blue Ridge Vocal Connection’s website at https://blueridgevocalconnection.com/choirfestival-rehearsal-aids-2026.html.
Join us for an inspiring, uplifting multi-choir festival.
The event starts with a one-hour rehearsal of music to be performed en masse at the end of the program. Individual singers not part of a choir are welcome to participate in this rehearsal and performance.
The 5 p.m. concert will feature individual choirs performing their best music, followed by an all-voices performance of this season’s glorious anthems.
At 6:30 p.m., the evening will cap off with a pot-luck dinner and time to socialize. All are invited.
The festival is a purpose-built opportunity for small choirs to grow their numbers.
What better way to recruit new members than by welcoming them to join 100-plus singers creating engaging melodies and magnificent harmonies.
