Elizabeth Mae Kelsoe Beekmann, 96, of Blacksburg, formerly of Winchester, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025. Elizabeth was a devoted and loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. Her kind gentle spirit, her sweet smile and her strong love for God has set a wonderful example for all. Elizabeth was a homemaker, and a tax accountant for H&R Block for many years before becoming a self-employed accountant. Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Virginia Kelsoe; her husband of 69 years, Evert Beekmann Jr.; her sister, Sarah Kelsoe; and her brother Robert Kelsoe (Ruth). She is survived by her children Frederick Beekmann (Cathy), Jean Deel (Tim) and Glenda Ball (Don); her grandchildren, Martha Malone (Dustin), Betsy Pontious (Eric), Joshua Deel (Erin), Nicholas Deel (Andrea), Kimberly Jubb (Rick), Derron Ball, Kevin Ball (Libby) and Eric Ball; and 16 great-grandchildren plus one due August of 2025. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Donnie Beekmann, Anna Lou Beekmann and JoAnne Taylor and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to express our gratitude to the wonderful caregivers (Joyce, Kim, Cindy, Robin, Laurie, Brian, Chelsea, Debbie and Myasia) who provided loving and tender care during her recent illness and to Medi Home Hospice staff (Kandis) and volunteers (Maraky and Harshini).

There will be a viewing for family and friends Wednesday, June 11, 2025, 10 – 11a.m., at McCoy Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., also in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Arrangements are being handled by McCoy Funeral Home.
