Wyatt, Herman Kelly, Jr.

Herman Kelly Wyatt, Jr., 68, of Riner and formerly of Chilhowie, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, with his loving family by his side. Born Jan. 15, 1949, he was a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam era and retired bridge and building foreman with Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Kelly Wyatt, Sr. and Bertha Wyatt; son, Stanley Hinkley; and grandson, Justin Wyatt.


He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Jessie Wyatt; daughter, Melissa “Missy” Lester and son-in-law, Wayne Lester, son, Jerry Hinkley and daughter-in-law, Teresa Hinkley, daughter, Jessica Perfater and son-in-law, Robert Perfater, son, David Wyatt and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wyatt, and daughter, Valerie Wyatt. He was a wonderful papal to his 13 grandchildren, Brittany Lester, Amber Martin, Kelsey Lester, Courtney Lester, Caleb Wyatt, Ashley McDowell, Cheyenne Hinkley, Steven Hinkley, Austin Wyatt, Jeremiah Perfater, Abby Wyatt and Hunter Wyatt and 3 great grandchildren. He was a loving brother to Jeff Wyatt, Connie Adams and husband Dean and Kitty Coalson and husband Gary; and many, many special nieces and nephews near and dear to his heart.

A special thank you goes out to all the doctors and nursing staff at Salem Veterans Hospital for the many years of taking great care of him.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Interment will follow with full military honors at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
