Wonder Universe: A Children’s Museum is presented to the Christiansburg Town Council

A representative of a planned children’s museum at the New River Valley Mall spoke at Tuesday’s Christiansburg Town Council meeting. Sarah Hicks, the executive director of Wonder Universe: A Children’s Museum, will be located in mall’s former food court and an adjacent storefront.

Two conceptual drawings show exhibits being proposed at a new children’s museum at the New River Valley Mall.


Renovation, according to Hicks, is slated to begin by the end of the month and should be completed by early summer.

“We are excited about the new location,” she said. The new space will almost triple the size of the museum when it was located in Blacksburg.

“We have 23,000 visits in 2018, and we anticipate within the first 18 months 60,000 visits at the new site.
