Wilson, Merle Delano

Merle Delano Wilson, 74, of Snowville, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017. He was a machine operator at the Radford Rock Quarry for over 15 years.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Latha and Maudie Wilson; brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Darlene Wilson; and brother-in-law, Seibert Simpkins, all of Snowville.

Survivors include his sister, Juanita Bell Simpkins of Snowville; daughter, Ashley, and granddaughter, Shaylee; nephews and their wives, Larry and Vicki Wilson, Dwayne and Arlene Simpkins, Allen and Samantha Simpkins, and Gary and Kathy Simpkins; a niece and her husband, Debbie and James Shelburne; and aunts, Ruby and Reba Simpkins.

The family wishes to thank Radford Health and Rehab, Dr. Charles Judy, and Intrepid Hospice for all the care they provided.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Neil Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery in Snowville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pulaski Animal Shelter.
