William “Bill” Lee Alexander Jr., 78, of Draper, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2026. Born Feb. 1, 1948, and raised in Pulaski County, Bill graduated from Dublin High School with the Class of 1966. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971, stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia.

A loyal sports fan, Bill cheered with great passion for the Cougars and the Hokies. He worked many years at Harvey Chevrolet in Radford and later retired from Huff Ford in Wytheville. Outside of work, he was a devoted member of ThornSpring Golf Club, where he formed lasting friendships and spent countless days on the course.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Vida Alexander, and his brother, Barry Alexander.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Alexander; daughters, April Alexander and Autumn Alexander-Hensel (L.J. Hensel); granddaughters, Madyline Alexander (Trace Shepherd), Jada Dean and Josie Blaylock; great-granddaughter, Sterling Shepherd. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Charlotte Alexander; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Donny Sweeney, and Vickie and Bobby Cruff; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janie and Bob Terrell; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Above all, Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and “Pawpaw.” He was loyal and faithful, always ready to meet the needs of those he loved. His quick wit and warm spirit could light up any room, and time spent with him was always filled with laughter and good company. To know Bill was to love him deeply.

While he will be profoundly missed, his family takes comfort in knowing he is in the loving arms of Jesus Christ. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to PCHS Athletics in his memory. Checks should made to PCHS, 5414 Cougar Trail Road, Dublin, VA 24084.

The family will receive friends 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.

The Alexander family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
