Carol Fae Wiley, born on February 26, 1938, completed her earthly journey with us on July 7, 2018. She has moved on to rejoin her husband of 61 years Allen E. Wiley, her parents William “Mack” M. E. and Vossie Gaynelle P. Bragg, her brothers, Luther and Lacy, and her sisters Maxine, Barbara, Roxie and Becky.
Carol is survived by her sisters Loretta, Betty, Ruby, Lois and Virginia. Carol was always lovingly addressed as Mom by her surviving children Mark Wiley (Elizabeth), Cheri Sypniewski , Gary Wiley and Renee Chapman, all of Radford. Her surviving eleven grandchildren, their spouses, and her seven great grandchildren knew and loved her as Maw Maw.
Those that knew her, as a wife, a mother, a public school teacher, or as a friend, will always remember her to be unfailingly kind, generous, forgiving to a fault and fiercely loving and devoted to her ever growing family. Her family will miss her tremendously as she enabled all of us to be the best we could possibly be simply by being who she was.
A graveside service, officiated by Grove United Methodist Church of Radford, will be held at Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery in Dublin, VA on a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
