Charles Dennis White, (Dennis) of Christiansburg, left his earthly home on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, to join those that have gone before him in Heaven.

Dennis was born in Bedford, Va., on Jan. 10, 1951, to Charlie and Hazel White. He grew up in Salem with his sister Ann and brother Glenn. There was quite the rejoicing in Heaven when Dennis was reunited with his parents and Glenn, who had gone on before him.

Dennis leaves behind the love of his life, Joan Crawford White, his wife of almost 49 years. The two married and had three daughters that thought the world of their dad. Jennifer Slusser (Mike), Holly Mossburg (Tony), and Allison White are left to cherish the sweet memories of their dad. His sister, Ann Kirby, and her husband, Ray, are also left to mourn his passing, along with sister-in-law Debbie White and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis loved and thought the world of his grandchildren, Gracie and Hailey Slusser, Noah and Kayley Eglin, and Cullen Mossburg. Boy Kittie, Sadie Jo, Walter, Peanut, and Rosie Marie were also beloved pets and grand-pets that Dennis took such good care of and loved.

Dennis was a 30-year employee of the United States Postal Service in Blacksburg and a US Army veteran.

Dennis’s faith in Christ was strong, and his desire to serve others was what he enjoyed most. He loved his family and friends and always enjoyed spending time with them. Dennis will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Blacksburg Christian Church, 240 Watson Ave., Blacksburg, and The Salvation Army.

Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
