Warren, Mabbot Perkins

Mabbot Perkins Warren of Radford, 91, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018. Born on July 24, 1926, she was preceded in death by her parents, Deryl Rodney Perkins and Margaret Myers Perkins; her brother, D.R. Perkins, Jr and her husbands, George M J Sarofeen and Joseph Turner Warren.


Survivors include her daughter, Robin Ridout Borkowski of Tybee Island, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, William David Ridout, Jr. and Connie of Fairlawn; stepsons, Robert A. Sarofeen and Nike of Chesterfield, and George F. Sarofeen and David Ferguson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Joseph Warren, Jr of Franklin, KY; stepdaughters, Mary Anne Warren Diehl of Richmond, and Janice L. Sarofeen of Moseley; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey T. Perkins and Margaret of Richmond; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Radford, PEO AB Chapter of Radford; past member of Petersburg Area Art League, Richmond Lawyers Auxiliary, Meadowbrook Country Club, and Petersburg Hospital Guild. She was graduated from Petersburg High School, attended Longwood College and Ft Lee Medical Lab Training during WWII and later became a kindergarten teacher at Petersburg School of Childhood. She enjoyed playing bridge, painting, being with her family and friends and celebrating life.

Special thanks to her family of caregivers who provided love, support and unfailing care during her illness.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at The Presbyterian Church of Radford with Rev. Shirley Larson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Presbyterian Church of Radford, 201 Fourth St., Radford, VA 24141 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Warren family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, Virginia.
