Edgar Martin Vaught, 84, of Blacksburg died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home. He was born in McCoy, Va. on Nov. 18, 1939, to the late Lucy Vaught Cole. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Paulette (Polly) Vaught; daughter, Patricia B. Vaught; and siblings, Marshall Cole, Gene Cole, Cindy (Rita) Morris, and Roger Cole.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Richard Vaught; sons, Gary Vaught and Barry Vaught (Cindy Journell); four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; siblings Doyle Vaught (Linda) and Haven Cole (Susie); sisters-in-law, Rosemary Cole, and Darlene Cole; and special friends, Leroy and Paulette Frazier and Roscoe Hall.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery. The family received friends Monday, April 29, 2024.
