Celia Hazel Caldwell Vaughan, 73, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Vinton.


She was a member of Garden City Bible Fellowship Church and retired nurse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mildred Caldwell; her husband, James Ellis Vaughan; and sisters, Jewell Turpin and Cheryl Jones.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Kenneth Flowers of Vinton, and Dana and Todd Epperly of Charles Town, W. Va.; son, William Lee Vaughan of Roanoke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Rita Caldwell of Richmond, Fred and Renna Caldwell of Delray Beach, Fla., and Robert Daniel and Vickey Caldwell of Pulaski; brother-in-law, Lee Jones of Woodville, Texas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Dave Potter of Christiansburg, Athelene Ashby of Perry Hall, Md., and Bob Laue of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Todd, Jason, Chris, Matt, Lauren and Sierra; great grandchildren, Edward, Conner, Chandler and Lilly; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Fairlawn Grace Brethren Church with Pastor Zach Doppelt and Pastor Nicholas Conn officiating. Interment will follow in Sifford Cemetery in Parrott.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday evening at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of your choice.
