Upcoming NAACP events

The NAACP Youth Council International Dinner will be held Saturday, at 4 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 500 Stuart St. in Christiansburg.


Youth will serve food and discuss cultures from around the world. All are welcome.

The NAACP will sponsor a Veterans’ Day celebration on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church, 580 N. High St. in Christiansburg.

The speaker will be Retired Marine Sargeant Lamont Calloway. The Colors will be presented by the VT Corps of Cadets.

We Invite All Veterans to Participate in the Processional. A special offering will be taken with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Southwest Virginia Cemetery Veterans Cemetery Volunteers Wreath Program. A reception will follow. All are welcome.

The November General Body meeting of the Montgomery County-Radford City-Floyd County NAACP will be held on Sunday, Nov. 19, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 500 Stuart Street in Christiansburg. (Please note this meeting is on the 3rd Sunday, to avoid conflict with Thanksgiving weekend.) The meeting is from 3:30-5 p.m. All are welcome.
