This Holiday Season, you can choose to support a local New River Valley organization by making a gift in a family member or friend’s honor.
The individual you make a gift in honor of will be sent a holiday card informing them of the gift. It’s a simple way to purchase something meaningful for a friend or family member while helping the less fortunate in our community.
Simply go online to the United Way of the New River Valley’s website (www.unitedwaynrv.org) to find the holiday catalog with a full listing of the different gifts that you can make. Gift pricing ranges from $15-$225 and encompasses a wide range of charitable options such as transportation for the elderly or a safe shelter for a women in a domestic abuse situation. The Giving Catalog will be open to purchase items throughout the holiday season, but gifts need to be purchased by December 19th to ensure the holiday card reaches the intended recipient before the end of the year.
