United Way Board Members Lara Ramsey and Terri Welch serve meals at Radford-Fairlawn Daily Bread during last year’s Day of Caring.

On Thursday, Sept. 21st from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., individuals from local businesses, organizations, and the general community are encouraged to volunteer their time as a part of the United Way of Montgomery, Radford & Floyd’s Day of Caring Event.

You and your church, business, school, or civic organization can make a difference in the community by volunteering to assist with improvement projects for local non-profit health and human service agencies.

Individuals and groups of volunteers will be matched with work projects convenient to them from a list of activities submitted by local United Way partner agencies.

Day of Caring is more than just a community service project. This offers you and your church, business, school or civic organization a chance to give back to the community, improve teambuilding in your organization, increase community awareness, network with others and seeing firsthand the impact United Way and its partner agencies have on the quality of life in the NRV.

During previous years, projects have included landscaping, storage organization, painting, cleaning and more.
