Mary Ellen Tallant, 75, passed away at her home in Radford on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father, Millard Lacy Underwood.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, William Malcolm Tallant of Radford; a son, William M. Tallant, Jr., of Radford; daughters Eugenia Rosemary Akers of Newport and Velma Katherine Price of Blacksburg; her mother, Velma S. Perdue of Newport; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters Marie Gladis Doss of Dublin, Martha Ann Gunther of Wytheville and Melinda Mae Goodwin; and many other relatives and friends.
The family received friends on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
The Tallant family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
