Virginia Poverty Law Center’s Enroll Virginia program is hosting a health fair at the Linden Green Apartments, 1600 Simpson Rd., Christiansburg, to connect residents directly with community resources in the New River Valley tomorrow, Thursday, July 25, 3– 5 p.m.

The “tailgate” health fair will include representatives from organizations including New River Community Action, the Area Agency on Aging, Virginia Poverty Law Center, Enroll Virginia, Molina Health Managed Care Organization, Community Health Center of the NRV and Women’s Resource Center.

“Enroll Virginia is partnering with the Community Housing Program (CHP) and several health and human services organizations to provide critical information and resources to residents living in NRV CHP properties,” said Rhonda Seltz, Certified Navigator with Enroll Virginia. “Issues like food insecurity, loss of Medicaid coverage, and lack of transportation are challenges facing many low- and moderate-income families. Traditional health fairs and events have not been effective in reaching these struggling individuals, so Enroll Virginia and CHP will offer on-site tailgate health fairs for six CHP properties in July.”

The Linden Green event is expected to be one of the largest tailgate fairs of the summer, serving approximately 200 residents.
