Another Hokie All-American

The Virginia Tech men’s cross country team competed at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning.  The squad competed in the 10k on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wisconsin.

Following his individual 10k victory at the NCAA Regional meet, George Couttie secured a 14th place finish at Nationals, with a personal-best of 29:07.4.  The finish earned the sophomore the first All-American honor of his career and the first for the cross country Hokies since Peter Seufer in 2019.  The top 15 finish is also the third highest in program history, following Peter Seufer (4th, 2019) and Steve Taylor (9th, 1987).
