Richard Dale Spence, Sr., 64, of Blacksburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at a nursing home in Roanoke. 

Richard was born July 24, 1959. He was the son of Paul and Barbara Spence. He retired as a construction worker for CL Draughn. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, collecting and watching Nascar and love for antique cars. 

He is survived by his children Richard Spence Jr., Chrissy Agnew and husband Chris, Elisha Spence and fiancé Scott Goad; grandchildren Riley Spence, Arabella Spence, Carter Agnew and Cole Agnew; brother Michael Spence; a very special niece Sabrina Wesel and husband Mike McCoy; nephews Jonathan, Alex and Mikey Spence; uncle Ronnie Snider; aunts, uncles and cousins in Mt. Tabor; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Barbara Spence; sister Sandra Duncan. 

Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Mar. 2, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 -2 p.m. before the service.
