Donald Bruce Smith, of Dublin, passed away Nov. 19, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born March 9, 1938, Donald B. was a master craftsman who could talk to just about anyone about anything for any length of time. He spent his working years as a machinist and tool-and-die maker, retiring from Federal Mogul after more than 30 years of dedicated service. He loved old westerns, classic country music, and freshly chopped onions on almost everything he ate. He was a lifelong tinkerer and his hobbies included gardening, bowling, bargain hunting, and finding unlikely treasures in all kinds of places that anyone else would not look at twice.

He was preceded in death by the light of his life, his wife of 62 years, Anita Smith; his daughter Dedra Lynn Smith Altizer; and granddaughter Megan Kaylie Altizer.

He is survived by his son, Dennis Smith; daughter-in-law Cheryl Smith; grandson Devin Altizer; granddaughter Alex Wiltsee; son-in-law Terry Altizer; and other beloved nieces and nephews.

The family held a visitation at Mullins Funeral Home in Radford Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, directly followed by a memorial service. A private interment will follow at a later date.

The Smith family is in the care of the Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
