Beverly Lee Shepherd, 80, of Christiansburg, died March 24, 2026, at the Sheila Strauss Hospice House in Roanoke.

She was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina June 4, 1945, to the late Wesley Rowan and Lovella Lizzy Stilley Lanier. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Bud” Shepherd, and sister, Dorothy Hedgecock.

Beverly retired from AT&T in 1989, she loved to attend Sunday church services and spend time with her grandchildren. Her lemon pound cakes will be dearly missed.

Beverly is survived by her children, Dean (Tracy) Shepherd, Kerry (Letrice) Shepherd and Angie (Jason) Alls; grandchildren, Paige, Laiken, Lilly, Jessie, Amber, Justin (Brook), Issac (Hannah), Zac (Amber) Dylan, Evan and Hayden; six great-grandchildren; brother James Lanier; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Debbie, Patsy, Kenneth (Edith), Gary (Brenda), Jerry (Wanda), Mike (Barbara), Gus (Von) and Roger (Stephanie); numerous nieces and nephews, and special pets Cooper and Leo.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Shiela Strauss Hospice House for the kind and gentle care they provided to Beverly.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Mar. 28, 2026 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Sherman Buckner officiating. A private interment followed the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Shelia Strauss Hospice House.
