Former Radford University forward Jayda Worthy (2014-18) was named Thursday to the Big South’s All-Decade Team.

Radford University’s Jayda Worthy was named to the Big South Conference’s Women’s Basketball 2010-19 All-Decade Team presented by Hercules Tires, which was announced by the league office on Thursday.

Worthy (2014-18) was the 2017-18 Big South Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time All-Big South selection. For her career, Worthy averaged 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while contributing 26.9 minutes on the floor. She grabbed 771 rebounds, seventh most in program history and 30th in Big South history. The Toledo, Ohio, native bucketed 501 field goals for fifth all-time in Highlander history and blocked 88 shots, ranking 10th in program history.

The league’s All-Decade Teams were first unveiled as part of the Big South’s 30th Anniversary celebration in 2013-14 to recognize the student-athletes and coaches who excelled in their respective sport in each decade since the conference’s founding in 1983.
Women’s
Basketball All-Decade Team candidates were determined with at least one of the following criteria required: 1) a multiple All-Conference honoree; 2) an All-American; 3) a member of the Big South Conference Hall of Fame; 4) a college graduate or in good academic standing with their respective institution; 5) Won a conference championship as a coach and/or was voted Conference Coach of the Year.

A 15-person committee of Big South Conference administrators served as the official voting panel to determine the All-Decade Team with fan voting counting for 20 percent of the overall total. The 2010-19 Big South All-Decade Team features 12 players and one head coach.
