Jones was the go-to guy for Radford all year long. The redshirt junior ended the year ranked 28th in the country in scoring, averaging 20.0 points per game. He was the only player in the nation to average at least 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per outing. Jones closed out the season shooting 48.8 percent from the floor and 40.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Jones was voted to the Big South All-Tournament team after averaging 27.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists through two games in the tournament. He garnered the program’s fourth Big South Player of the Year award and became just the third player from Radford to earn the honor.
Jones also earned Big South First Team honors for the second time in his career.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, native accumulated 18 20-point games, and in three of those he scored at least 30 points. He tallied four double-doubles and was named Big South Player of the Week a conference-high five times. Jones became the seventh player in conference history to reach 1,000+ points and 400+ rebounds and assists in a career.
Jones now ranks eighth in Radford history in scoring with 1,552 points. He needs just 476 points to break the school’s all-time scoring record. He has surpassed that number in two of his three seasons at Radford.
Jones is the first Radford player since the 2009-10 season to earn First Team All-District accolades on the NABC list. He joins Art Parakhouski, Javonte Green and Ed Polite Jr., as all-time members of the NABC All-District Team. Four Big South players tallied a spot on the 2019-20 District 3 All-District Teams
