Radford University has announced the selection of Anthony Graham to serve as Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Recruitment and Director of Admissions.

Graham will lead the Office of Admissions by administering all elements of the freshman recruitment and admissions and begins his tenure Mar. 10.

Graham most recently served in a variety of roles at Emory & Henry College, including Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management, Director of First-Year Admissions, Associate Director of Admissions, and Assistant Director of Admissions. He also served as Associate Director of Admissions at East Carolina University. He began his professional career in admissions at his alma mater, the University of Virginia’s College at Wise.

“Radford University is an innovative and progressive institution of learning where students receive personalized attention, access to state-of-the-art facilities, and award-winning professors,” said Associate Vice President Graham. “I am excited to unite with an outstanding admissions team and will work hard to ensure that Radford University continues to be a top choice for prospective students.”

Radford University President Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D. said Graham has a proven record of success.

“On behalf of the Radford family, I am pleased to welcome Anthony as a dedicated and proud Highlander and look forward to his immediate impact on our admissions operation,” said Hemphill. “He has a proven record of success in the field of admissions and significant experience at institutions in the Commonwealth of Virginia.”

Graham said increasing enrollment will be one of his objectives.

“I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence through a collaborative effort with the enrollment area in executing President Hemphill’s key initiative to strategically increase enrollment,”said Graham.

Reporting to Vice President for Enrollment Management Craig Cornell, Graham will be responsible for the development of effective recruitment and admissions strategies, planning, and processing to meet the University’s targeted enrollment goals for new freshmen.

“We are excited to have Anthony join the Division of Enrollment Management and lead the admissions team as we recruit and enroll students who will excel at Radford University and in their chosen professions,” said Cornell. “We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber and experience.  I look forward to Anthony’s expertise as we continue to make a difference in the lives of current and future students.”

Interim Associate Vice President for Transfer Partnerships and Recruitment Kitty McCarthy chaired the Search Committee.

“I would like to thank the many individuals from across campus who participated in the search through service on the committee and attendance at the forums,” said McCarthy. “I am confident Anthony will be a great addition to the Radford family, and I look forward to working with him.”

Graham is highly involved in professional organizations through dedicated service as a current member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (VACRAO), as well as a past member of the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACRAO).

Associate Vice President Graham received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration at the University of Louisville.
