Radford University’s College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) has earned full accreditation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) with no areas for improvement or stipulations for a second consecutive review cycle.

This national recognition reflects the strength, coherence and impact of the college’s educator preparation programs. CAEP accreditation is awarded through a rigorous process that examines content knowledge, pedagogy, clinical partnerships, candidate support, program impact and systems for continuous improvement.

“Earning full accreditation with no areas for improvement for a second consecutive cycle reflects the intentional design and strength of our programs,” said Tamara Wallace, dean of the College of Education and Human Development. “It speaks to the coherence of our work and our unwavering commitment to preparing educators who are ready to lead and make an immediate impact in schools and communities.”

The recognition comes at a pivotal moment for the profession, as school systems seek highly prepared, adaptable educators. CAEP accreditation signals to prospective students, school divisions and community partners that Radford University’s educator preparation programs meet nationally recognized standards of excellence and are grounded in practice, partnership and continuous improvement.

For more than a century, Radford University has prepared teachers, counselors and education professionals to serve communities across Virginia and beyond. Founded to meet the commonwealth’s need for educators, the university continues to build on that legacy through innovative programs, strong school partnerships and a focus on real-world impact.

This continued accreditation reinforces the university’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation and student success.
