Bobby Nixon Roberts, 78, of Christiansburg, passed away on Jan. 12, 2017, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery, surrounded by his family.

As owner and operator of Angle Florist in Christiansburg for over 50 years, Bobby worked tirelessly to provide each customer with personalized attention. His resolve to please his customers resulted in many lifelong, trusted friends who came to depend upon Bobby’s loyal service.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Shelby. He is survived by his son, Herbert Roberts and wife, Fe; grandchildren, Matthew Roberts, and Geraldine Pontawe, all of Alhambra, California; brother, David Roberts (Charlotte), Lynchburg; brothers-in-law, Herbert Simpkins, Sam Simpkins (Peggy), Travis Simpkins (Gail), Nelson Simpkins (Deborah) and Don Simpkins, all of Christiansburg; sisters-in-law Linda Smith (Bob), Riner, Teresa Davis (Joe), Christiansburg, and his special dog, Bud.

Our heartfelt love and appreciation go to Uncle Herb, Dad’s closest friend, confidant and business companion of 26 years, for his unwavering support and compassionate care for Bobby during his long illness.

Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg with Rev. Jeremy Rasor officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.mccoyfuneralhome.com
