Jene Proctor Roark, age 81, of Christiansburg went home to our Lord after a long illness on July 19, 2018. He was born April 24, 1937 to the late Sterling and Eva Roark. He was preceded in death by sisters, Jo Leach and Judy Dowdy; brother, William “Jim” Roark; brothers-in-law, Skip Hatfield and Bob Leach; and niece, Lisa L. Baldwin.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughters, Sabrina Roark, Dreama Whitmire (Jack); sons, Christopher Jene “Chris” Roark, Darrell Taylor, David Taylor; sister, Janet Hatfield; sisters-in-law, Margaret Roark, Hazel Layne, Patty Frye, Nina Carter, Tonya Burdette; brother-in-law, Duke Dowdy; grandchildren, Caleb, Shane, Taylor, Anthony, Erica, Cheyenne, Renea; several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren; and the best friend anyone could ever have, Richard “Dickie” Ballengee.
Funeral Services were conducted Monday, July 23, 2018 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Neuse officiating. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service.
