The New River caused high water and flooding in low-lying areas on Saturday, peaking at 12.51 feet on Saturday afternoon. Flood stage is 14 feet. The lower Dedmon Center parking lot was closed, as was New River Drive in Radford. According to Radford Public Information Officer Jennie Wilder, no significant damage occurred from the flooding.

“As far as I am aware there was no damage from Saturday’s high water and crews have been working to clean up the debris washed ashore, as well as clear the trails of dirt and debris for the Half Marathon and Food Truck Rodeo this weekend,” Wilder said.
