In its fifth annual Hugs for Buds event, three Retired and Senior Volunteer Program volunteers delivered 100 floral arrangements to veterans throughout Montgomery County and Radford, many residing in local nursing and assisted living homes.

Wade’s Floral Manager Susan Reece and six RSVP volunteers arranged the flowers the day before delivery.

“Many thanks to Virginia Flanary and Janice Haynes for providing the handmade cards for veterans and to all who have contributed to this worthwhile program!”

Bill Chrisman, an RSVP volunteer, delivered floral arrangements to veterans throughout Montgomery County and Radford.

Mandy W. Hayes, Coordinator of the RSVP of Montgomery County & Radford said.

Because the Hugs and Buds program is an annual event to honor veterans on Veteran’s Day, RSVP is accepting donations for next year’s project.

For more information about the RSVP volunteer program, contact Mandy Hayes, Coordinator, RSVP of Montgomery County & Radford at 540-382-5775.
