RADFORD – Radford University will hold its undergraduate spring commencement ceremony today.
The ceremony is set to begin at 10 a.m. at Moffett Lawn on the Radford University main campus.
Laurie Shelby ’83, a Tesla Inc. executive, will speak at the ceremony. Shelby is a human and organizational performance expert known for her “new view” thinking to drive improvements. Since 2017, she has served as the vice president of environmental, health and safety (EHS), sustainability and security at Tesla Inc. She leads worldwide EHS, sustainability and security for over 130,000 employees in the automotive, energy, and sales and service delivery operations.
Organizers will monitor the weather forecast carefully. Light to moderate showers will not prevent commencement from being held outside at 10 a.m. on Moffett Lawn. If severe weather appears likely to impact commencement, regular updates will be provided via email to graduating students and shared on social media.
If moved to the Dedmon Center, the ceremonies would be scheduled as follows:
10 a.m.: College of Education and Human Development, School of Nursing and Waldron College of Health and Human Services
1 p.m.: College of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences
4 p.m.: Artis College of Science and Technology, College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Davis College of Business and Economics
The College of Graduate Studies and Research hosted a hooding ceremony for students receiving masters and doctoral degrees on Friday, May 5, in the Dedmon Center. The ceremony included students from all graduate programs at Radford University main campus, Radford University Carilion, Roanoke Higher Education Center and Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.
