Radford Tree Lighting Ceremony and Main Street Parade of Lights Dec. 5

The Radford Electric Department hanging the lights for the upcoming Tree Lighting Ceremony, Dec 5: tree lighting, musical festivities, Santa and cookies begin at 5. The city’s Parade of Lights on Main steps off at 7.

This year the Radford Public Library (30 W. Main Street Radford) will celebrate its 15th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 5 starting at 5 p.m.


The library’s family-friendly event will feature free photos with Santa and performances by the Radford University Women’s Chorale and an interactive production by the Grove United Methodist Handbell Choir.

A ukulele band, comprised of library staff, community musicians and members of the String Theory band, will entertain outside and lead a festive sing-a-long when the tree is lit at 6:30 p.m.

The Radford Coffee Company will provide chocolate chip cookies and community volunteers will prepare and serve hot cocoa and cider.

Following library events, Radford’s evening Holiday Parade of Lights beginning at 7 p.m on Main Street from University Drive to the Sal’s / El Charro parking lot.

Glencoe Mansion and Museum will also feature an exhibit titled ‘Christmas Traditions Through the Years at the Glencoe Mansion.’
