Radford seeks comments on amendment of the 2024-2025 CDBG Action Plan

RADFORD – In accordance with the City of Radford Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citizen Participation Plan and CDBG regulations, the City of Radford wishes to inform residents and all interested parties of the proposed amendment to the PY 2023 Annual Action Plan and PY 2024 Annual Action Plan.

The City’s Citizen Participation Plan requires that whenever the city increases or decreases funding from one activity to another during a fiscal year, to an activity previously not listed in an annual action plan and/or an existing approved activity is cancelled, or changes to the adopted Consolidated Plan are made, a public comment period and public hearing must be held. A public hearing and 30-day comment period will be held to provide the public with an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed substantial amendment to the 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan as indicated below.

Cancel PY 2023 Activity – East Main Street Project

Reduce PY 2024 completed 17th Street Water/Sewer Project

Add new project to PY 2024 and allocate funds for Sewer Improvements to Stockton Street in the amount of $107,200.

The Radford City Community Development office is soliciting comments on the proposed amendment during the comment period ending May 15, 2025. A public hearing will be held on May 12, 2025 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chamber’s, at 10 Robertson Street, Radford.

Comments may also be given via e-mail to: Melissa.Skelton@radfordva. gov, by phone at (540) 267-3188 or by mail to Community Development, 10 Robertson Street, Radford, VA 24141. Comments must be received by 5 p.m. May 15, 2025.
