RADFORD – The City of Radford is seeking applications from certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, for the upcoming 2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
CDBG funds are federal grant funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development designed to support “community development activities to build stronger and more resilient communities,” according to HUD. “To support community development, activities are identified through an ongoing process. Activities may address needs such as infrastructure, economic development projects, public facilities installation, community centers, housing rehabilitation, public services, clearance/acquisition, micro-enterprise assistance, code enforcement, and homeowner assistance.”
Public service programs include, but are not limited to: health care, recreation programs, education programs, anti-violence programs, services for senior citizens, youth services, services for homeless persons, substance abuse counseling and treatment, domestic violence services, mental health services, immigrant services, disability services, and fair housing/tenant landlord counseling.
