RADFORD – The Radford Recreation Commission is looking for public input on the lineup for 2022 July
4th event.

“The Radford Recreation Commission would like your thoughts and suggestions for our 2022 July 4th
Spirit of America Celebration,” the City of Radford announced. “The commission has been working
diligently on making the event the best ever and would love to hear your suggestions and comments.”
Some bands have already been scheduled, including former Statler Brother Jimmy Fortune, returning for
his 20th-year performing in Radford on July 4. The Cat 5 Band, specializing in country and beach music
with classic rock, R&B and soul music, and 80’s pop rock, will also perform. Also scheduled is the LUA
project playing “Mexilachian” music, a blend of Mexican and Appalachian folk songs.
Anyone who would like to suggest a band for the recreation commission to consider for an afternoon slot
on the program may email that suggestion to Ken.Goodyear@radfordva.gov by Wednesday, Dec. 15. Any
pertinent information such as the group’s website and contact information should be included.
The commission also welcomes suggestions and comments on food and craft vendors and any other
recommendations the public may have.
