The Radford Bobcat track teams had high hopes for Saturday’s Class 2 state championship. After winning the 2C regional crown, they stormed into the Harrisonburg competition. Weather delayed the meet for a day, and teased problems again on Saturday.

When the dust settled, the girls team finished ninth as Wilson Memorial rolled through the competition with 92.5 points. Second place Maggie Walker High School finished with 72.5 points.

The Radford boys finished in 20th place with 32 points.

Emma Hastings-Crummey finished sixth in the 3,200-meter run. Tyashia Gellner took fifth in both the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles.

Radford’s Miranda McGrady finished seventh in the 800-meters, and jumpstarted the 4X800 relay team (Hastings-Crummey along with Abby Barnes and Alice Lin), that took fourth.
