The top finishers from Radford’s Cub Scout Pack #46 in the 2020 Pinewood Derby were (left to right) Sam Bondurant (first place), Murphy Carchia (second place), and Noah Bondurant (third place).

The cub scouts of Pack #46 in Radford recently had a busy Saturday as they participated in the first-ever pack-sponsored Pinewood Derby at Calvary Baptist Church and helped Belle Heth Elementary distribute Thanksgiving baskets to families in need. In the derby, 12 scouts raced the cars they designed and painted themselves.  The top three finishers were Sam Bondurant, Murphy Carchia and Noah Bondurant.

The cub scouts from Pack #46 pictured below recently helped raise money for and distribute Thanksgiving gift baskets. Lending a hand were (front row, left to right) Murphy Carchia, Sam Bondurant, Sebastian Jakupczyk, John Robert Henderson, Conley Bolling, (back row, left to right) Steven Henderson, Hudson Jarrell, Noah Bondurant, Braden Thatcher and Beau Rutherford.

In taking on the stocking and distribution of the food baskets as a community service project, the scouts collected enough items to complete five baskets. They also raised $345 in donations to help with the purchase of items for additional baskets.
