RADFORD – Radford University and the City of Radford welcomed the community to downtown Radford Saturday for the annual Radford Community Fest, a free celebration bringing together the university, the city and community members from throughout the region.
The festival filled East Main Street with more than 100 vendors, food trucks, live music and entertainment, street performers, community organizations, downtown businesses and activities for all ages. The festival also featured a Kids’ Zone with games, crafts, lessons and inflatables, along with performances and demonstrations throughout the day.
The festival, in its third year, is a collaboration between the City of Radford and Radford University and was held Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Live music on the main stage included The Red Ferns, local bluegrass and acoustic folk, The Legacy Motown Revue and Cassette Rewind, an ’80s cover band. A Community Stage featured a Radford City Police Department canine demonstration at 1:30 p.m. and Derek Wagner Dance Studio performances at 3:45 p.m. The Fluidity Performance Troupe performed on the street among festivalgoers throughout the day.
The festival brought out a big crowd, who also enjoyed a wide variety of food and beverage trucks, with several vendors reporting they sold out their products due to the large turnout.
