Radford claims 2A West championship

Radford High School will serve as next week’s host team for the 1A and 2A state swim championships at the Christiansburg Aquatics Center, and they will boasting this week’s 1A West girls title. Radford tallied 158.5 points to second place, Glenvar’s 140 points.

Marion and Virginia High were 1-2 on the boys side of the pool with Radford third.

Radford individual results:

girls 200-yard medley relay, Radford, third (Logan Graham, Olivia Dunning, Lily Weschke and Grace Wohlford); boys 200-yard freestyle, Andew Rehak, third; girls 200-yard freestyle, Logan Graham, fourth;

boys 200-yard IM, Nicholas Harvey, fourth; girls 200-yard IM, Olivia Dunning, third; Lily Weschke, fourth

boys 50-yard freestyle, Mark Johnson, third; girls 50-yard freestyle, Grace Wohlford, first; girls 100-yard fly, Olivia Dunning, fifth; girls 500-yard freestyle, Logan Graham, third; boys 200-yard freestyle relay, Radford, first (Nicholas Harvey, Michael Wohlford, Mark Johnston and William Mitchell); girls 200-yard freestyle relay, Radford, first (Lily Weschke, Logan Graham, Abby Dangerfield and Grace Wohlford); boys 100-yard breaststroke, Chet Kleppin, fourth; boys 400-yard freestyle relay: third (William Mitchell, Andrew Rehak, Mark Johnston and Michael Wohlford).

The Lady Bobcats took top honors at Tuesday’s regional meet in Abingdon. The Radford boys team finished third. The state championship meet is Wednesday at the Christiansburg Aquatics Center.
